What are the main components of equipment for copper extraction?

        Release time:2025-10-30 09:03 Views:

The equipment used in the copper extraction process consists of an extraction section, a back-extraction section, and auxiliary systems.

The core equipment in the extraction section is the mixing and clarification tank. The leachate and the organic phase are transported here and come into full contact in the mixing chamber, allowing copper ions to transfer from the leachate to the organic phase. Subsequently, the two phases are rapidly separated in the clarification chamber, providing a copper-loaded organic phase for subsequent processing.

The back-extraction section also employs a mixing and clarification tank. The copper-loaded organic phase and the rich electrolyte meet here, and through mixing, copper ions are returned from the organic phase to the rich electrolyte. After clarification and separation, a lean organic phase and a copper-rich solution are obtained for subsequent electrowinning processes.

Auxiliary systems are indispensable in the copper extraction process. Storage tanks are divided into organic phase tanks and solution tanks, used to store the organic phase and various solutions respectively, ensuring the continuity and stability of the production process. Pumps are the power source for fluid transport, responsible for accurately delivering various fluids to designated locations. Filters effectively remove solid suspended matter (entrained matter) from the organic phase, preventing it from affecting subsequent processes and product quality. Furthermore, rectifiers and electrodes are specifically used in the electrowinning workshop. The rectifier provides stable direct current for the electrowinning process, while the electrodes participate in the electrochemical reaction, causing copper to deposit on the cathode, ultimately yielding a high-purity copper product.
